Maximizing GLP-1 Impact: Real-World Results from Nourish Patients

- Nourish patients see meaningfully better GLP-1 outcomes than standard care, losing nearly 70% more weight on semaglutide and ~23% more on tirzepatide (the two most common GLP-1 medications) than patients receiving standard care alone
- Every Nourish patient on GLP-1s sees a registered dietitian to help manage side effects, monitor nutrition, and protect muscle mass
- One contributing factor: Nourish patients are more likely to stay on their GLP-1 long enough to see results, with 76% persisting at six months vs. a 46% real-world benchmark
GLP-1 medications work in large part by curbing appetite, and for many patients that's exactly the point. But appetite suppression is a blunt instrument: it makes weight loss possible, while also making it easy to under-eat, miss key nutrients, and lose muscle alongside fat. Side effects like nausea are common, especially in the early months, and represent one of the most frequent reasons people stop taking these medications altogether. For most patients, navigating all of these dynamics falls entirely on them.
This is the type of gap the Nourish care model is designed to close. Every Nourish patient on a GLP-1 is paired with a registered dietitian who helps them eat well while the medication does its work. This means managing side effects as they come up, protecting nutrition and muscle mass, and staying reachable for support between visits rather than just at scheduled check-in times.
To explore whether that support actually drives outcomes, we studied 7,675 Nourish patients on semaglutide or tirzepatide over the course of six months. The results are clear: patients working with Nourish lost nearly 70% more weight on semaglutide, and roughly 23% more on tirzepatide, than patients on the same medications with typical care alone, without the added layer of support.
Engagement with a Nourish dietitian was also linked to another factor: whether patients stayed on their medication long enough to see results. 76% of Nourish patients were still on their GLP-1 at six months, well above the 46% real-world benchmark, and patients who persisted lost meaningfully more weight than those who didn't.
